Pregnancy… Exercise?!?Pregnancy exercise

Staying healthy during pregnancy is incredibly important for both you and your baby! Most know this involves your diet and visiting your doctor on a regular basis, but did you know it also means exercise? You might have to change up your exercise routine, but exercise during pregnancy can help relieve some of the aches and pains of pregnancy. Knowing exactly how you should exercise is an important factor when creating a good exercise routine. Make sure not to start off too hard. Start from about 10 minutes and work your way up to 30. Working out everyday is okay as long as you are not straining yourself. To make sure you are not straining yourself too hard, try having a conversation with someone! If you can, you are right where you should be!

So what exercises can you do? Well, here’s a list:

  • Wall push-ups! Just put your hands flat against the wall about shoulder-width apart and do push-ups like you normally would but against the wall.
  • You can dance! Of course, stay away from twirling or any sort of jumping or quick movements, but dancing around in your living room is healthy! It gets you up and moving.
  • Yoga! There are certain moves you should stay away from, but yoga can help you to relax and feel peace. Plus, it is exercise. Mix it up with walking afterwards.
  • You can go swimming! Remember to stay hydrated, do a warm-up and cool-down, and if this is your first time swimming to exercise, check with a medical professional first. Swimming is one of the best exercises you can do while pregnant.

Exercising while pregnant only truly requires you to possibly lessen your typical regimen. Consult your doctor before you begin, remember to wear comfortable clothing that you can work out in, and remember to stop when you begin to strain yourself! Pregnancy exercise can help you to sleep better, give you more energy, reduce aches and pains, and even get you ready to give birth!
